Link expander & redirect checker · free, no signup
Expand any short link. See where it actually goes.
Paste a bit.ly, t.co, or any shortened, tracking, or suspicious URL and expand it to its final destination. See each status code, unshorten the link, and spot redirect loops or insecure hops — so you know exactly where it lands before you click. We fetch it safely on our server; your browser never touches it.
Link expander
We follow the link once on the server and never store it. Public http(s) links only — private and internal addresses are blocked.

What expanding a URL shows you.
A short link is just a chain of HTTP redirects. The URL expander walks every 301 / 302 hop to the final page and flags anything worth a second look.
Every hop, in order
See each redirect's status code and URL, from the link you pasted to the page it lands on — so a five-hop tracking chain reads at a glance.
The expanded URL
Expand any bit.ly, t.co, or branded short link and read the full long URL before you ever click it — unshortened, with nothing hidden.
Safety flags
We surface redirect loops, hops that drop from https to plain http, and a final host that differs from where you started — the usual tells of a sketchy link.
SSRF-safe by design
We fetch on the server, block links resolving to private or internal addresses, and follow only http and https. Your browser never touches the destination.
New to status codes? Read 301 vs 302 redirects to know which one a link should return. And every slsh.me short link is a single, trackable hop — no mystery chains, with live click analytics.
Questions
What is a link expander?
A link expander (also called a URL expander or unshortener) reveals the full destination hidden behind a shortened link. Short links are just HTTP redirects, so this tool expands them by following the chain on the server and showing you the final long URL — plus every hop, status code, and safety flag along the way.
How do I expand a short URL without clicking it?
Paste it above and slsh.me expands it on the server, following every redirect and showing each hop's status code and URL until it reaches the final destination — so you can see where a shortened or tracking link really lands before you click it.
Is this link safe to check here?
Yes. We request the link from our server, not your browser, so the destination never runs anything on your machine. We also block links that resolve to private or internal addresses, and we only follow http and https. We never store the URL.
Can I unshorten a bit.ly or t.co link?
Yes — that's exactly what this does. Shorteners are just redirects, so the expander walks the chain and reveals the final long URL the short link points to.
Is this free?
Yes. The link expander is free and needs no signup. If you want clean, trackable short links of your own, a free slsh.me account gets you live click analytics on every link.
